While the homeowner or enthusiastic DIY person can use the commonly found 110 volt electric power washers, they are best suited for the smallest of jobs. We like to use gas-powered machines which allow us to achieve high working pressures of 2500-3000psi. This allows us to cover large areas faster, and with much more cleaning power.

When Should I Use Pressure Washing Services?
The reasons for this service is typically people want to enhance or clean up the appearance of outside building materials. When outside materials get a build up of dirt or mold over years, coming around and hitting these surfaces with a power washer can be quite dramatic! Check out the drastic changes in our pictures!
The main reason people get power washing done is because they’d like to do outside painting or staining and even when surfaces might not LOOK exceptionally dirty, surfaces do need to be free from dirt or other contaminants for our paint products to stick.
The Hat does have a lot of air pollutants that contribute to discolouring our buildings. From manufacturing plants, to wildfire smoke and even farmland dust. Over numerous years, this DOES accumulate.
Consider also the scenario of having areas that are shaded or semi-shaded areas around a property. Overly shady trees too close to a house or building, can prevent damp building materials from drying regularly. It’s then not overly surprising when you get green moss buildup on parts of your deck, siding, or walkways. If shady areas are part of the problem, then after powerwashing, you may want to trim back or even remove some of the trees or vegetation to prevent the return of moss or mold buildup.
If we want to paint large areas on the outside of our home or building, a good pressure cleaning is recommended. Since paint does not stick well at all to dirt, moss or grease, we wash as required using soap, TSP (Tri-Sodium-Phosphate) and bleach.
Usually, most exterior painting and staining projects we will powerwash. Surfaces that we can see to be dirty, or we presume to be dirty, we will wash. Sometimes, all we need is some spot washing with a hand rag. Small dirty areas like a window sill is fine with a wipe with a hand rag. Other times in places we may need a cleaning solution and a stiff bristled brush. Large areas of siding or stucco that may be dirty, we need the powerwasher.
To make paint stick the strongest to surfaces, we want surfaces to be generally clean. After any washing, when the surfaces are dry within 24 hours, we can proceed with painting and staining. A good primer for the bare areas, and a top quality paint, and your place will again look like a million bucks!
